A particular interest in supporting adults with trauma

Ling has a strong interest in working with trauma and helping people understand and process experiences that continue to impact their life today.
Many of the challenges we face as adults have their roots in earlier life experiences. Patterns of anxiety, self-criticism, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or a persistent sense of feeling stuck can often develop as understandable responses to experiences from childhood or significant events later in life.
Additionally, recent traumatic experiences can also have a significant impact on how we feel, think, and function in our everyday lives. Following events such as an accident, loss, relationship breakdown, medical experience, assault, or other distressing experience, you may find yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, numb, on edge, or struggling to return to a sense of safety. These responses can be difficult and unsettling, but they are often understandable reactions to what you have been through.
Together, we explore these experiences with curiosity, compassion and care, helping you gain insight into long-standing patterns and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges and change long held negative beliefs about themselves.
Through this process, clients often develop a deeper understanding of themselves, greater emotional resilience and a stronger sense of wellbeing.

Ling's therapeutic approach
Ling draws on a range of evidence-based therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Psychodynamic Therapy, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Mindfulness-based approaches.
Rather than applying a single approach to every client, therapy is tailored to your individual needs, goals and circumstances. Ling’s aim is to help you better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, build on your strengths and create meaningful, lasting change.
